UPDATE: 2014 is The Year of Getting It Done.

Its been a while since I posted, and that's because I've been getting 'it' done.

Writing: 44,000 words into my first draft of The Storyteller (approximately 44% done)

Reading: Read 13 books in 34 days. Most were small, but some were large.

School: Getting it done. More than half way through with the credential program

Reflections: Winter break was amazing. Saw lots of friends and family. Read and wrote a lot. Had a beer or three.

NYRB: This is a publisher that I've begun reading almost exclusively (10 of the 13 books so far this year) and I have about 50 more on the shelf waiting. Some realllllllly good titles include: The Other by Thomas Tryon, Belchamber by Howard Sturgis, Warlock by Oakley Hall, Ice Trilogy by Vladimir Sorokin and The Stranger in the House by Georges Simenon. Ones to avoid: Anything by J.R. Ackerly (he is a gifted writer, but man his relationship with his pets goes outside of my comfort zone), The Murderess by Alexandros Papadiamantis (this book has a cold blooded premise and still doesnt manage to raise a hair on the back of my neck. He is hailed as being the best modern Greek author by the famous Czech author Milan Kundera, but I'm not a fan of Kundera either. To each his/her own)

Things to tackle: Whew......Still want to do Proust. And I want to finish the book I'm working on by the end of Summer. It's doable, both things are doable.

One Love
